SAUNAS FOR UKRAINE
We will plan, build and deliver 10 sauna complexes
fit for battalion-sized units in Ukraine.
Let's collect 1.5 million euros!
We have completed our 4th sauna complex! Next week it will go to Ukraine. This time, we decided to showcase the wonder of Estonian sauna culture properly. Naturally, we believe it to be the best sauna complex of the 21st century. A pure Estonian product with the international funding. On Friday, April 12th, from 4-6 PM, there's a special opportunity to see and experience the sauna complex on the front square of Fotografiska in Tallinn.A similar event will take place on Saturday, April 13th, near Terviseparadiis in Pärnu. Yes, you can even enjoy the sauna if you'd like. Remember to bring your own towel on both days.Three mobile sauna-bathhouses have already been sent from Estonia, but we need many more. The project leaders, Ilmar Raag and Siim Nellis, will be speaking at the Fotografiska café. Ruslan Trochynskyi (Svjata Vatra) will perform with his daughter. Wine and snacks will be provided. In Pärnu, the members of the Saunas For Ukraine association, Jan Kotka and Himot Ilus, will be present. Donations are welcome.Come and bring a friend along. Situation
Most fighters spend their days in trenches
Many ukrainian fighters are in the trenches every day, under fire from enemy artillery and tanks, but they remain defiant. The situation is reminiscent of the first world war where soldiers can too easily get sick just from the absence of hygiene.
The weather in Eastern Ukraine can be very cold during winters and very hot during summers
The infantryman in the winter feels constant cold. There are cases of the amputation of frozen limbs. During the summer heat, soldiers dehydrate quickly. At the same time, the sweat mixed with dust and mud created formidable environment for different kind of
bacteria.
There are no organized washing facilities
Most of the Ukrainian units don't have centrally organised washing facilities. "Last time, I washed myself was a month ago," explained a soldier to us near Bahmut. Uniforms have to be washed by hand and infrequently. Living in constant damp conditions affects the morale of defenders.
